Acting Program
Acting classes develop confidence and encourage imaginative exploration and discovery. The program is focused on effective storytelling. Classes cover: theatre games, terminology, improvisation, monologue, devised and scene work, including script analysis. Performances are structured to incorporate fundamental building blocks and allow the student to grow with each show. Drama is especially beneficial for an introverted child. It also aids in building positive self - esteem and open creativity in a safe atmosphere where students are encouraged to grow. It's a fantastic program providing the skills for acting, public speaking and role playing while laying the ground work for students who wish to pursue drama in college and professionally. SISA theatre grads have received BFA and BA degrees from such nationally ranked universities as: Ball State University, Indiana University, Shenandoah University, Northern Kentucky University, Vincennes University and Stephens College. Professional work credits include: Kentucky Shakespeare, Stage One, Kentucky Center for the Arts, National Tours, Independent Films, Regional Semi Professional Theatre as well as work as teachers, actors, stage managers and directors. Performance opportunities are provided each semester. Classes are instructed by Debbie Endris and Grace Robertson. Special Rehearsal Note: Please note that all Acting classes have performance requirements and their time and schedule will change for rehearsals. Rehearsal schedule first semester begins approximately November 1st and second semester, April 1.
